The Business of Healthcare Podcast with Tara Humphrey

Sep 24, 2020

Rachael Crook is the Co-Founder and CEO of Lifted – who is a care provider that makes finding, organising, and managing care for your loved ones easier than ever, with industry leading technology. When Rachael’s mum was diagnosed with dementia aged 56, she quit her job as a consultant to use her experiences of care and the power of technology to help others and make life better for families like hers.

Rachael joins me this week to share her experiences of starting a health-tech company in social care. She talks about how they have built their team looking for complementary skills. She talks about the importance of empowering her team to step up and do their best work, and having a mission to power you through. And she shares how she uses her advantages to help others.

“At McKinsey I gained an understanding of commercial acumen that I combined with my deep passion for social impact and putting those two things together allowed me to have the skills to make this business into a reality.” Rachael Crook
