The Business of Healthcare Podcast with Tara Humphrey

Apr 26, 2023

I am delighted to welcome back North East London Local Pharmacy Community CEO, pharmacist and Business of Healthcare original podcast guest, Shilpa Shah!

Shilpa and I first met when we were co-collaborators as part of the Kent and Medway Integrated Medicines Optimisation Board and I was able to witness first hand Shilpa's incredible eye for detail, her ability to influence, and, as a self-confessed 'completer-finisher', her strength in clearly communicating on vision and delivering the required outcomes.

It was great to catch up and we were fortunate to have enough time to cover all of the following, and more...

  • Understanding your own leadership style and the importance of always being yourself
  • Utlising hard and soft skills to ensure you can lead in an integrated and inclusive way
  • Community Pharmacy by definition, and the business of pharmacy now, and in the future
  • Managing tensions and bridging the gap between community pharmacy and general practice
  • Overcoming boundaries and establishment of collaborative working, particularly in an increasingly at-scale world
  • Holding ourselves, and others, to account
  • Why patient focus should always be at the heart of everything we do as healthcare leaders
