The Business of Healthcare Podcast with Tara Humphrey

Apr 23, 2020

I have both Fiona Claridge and Dr Farzana Hussain joining me on the podcast this week. Fiona is the Regional Lead for London and East of England at the NHS Confederation. Her role is to support NHS confederation members and to represent the health care system across England Wales and Northern Ireland. And Farzana is a GP and Clinical Director of Newham Central 1 Primary Care Network.

With the vast and rapid change that has happened over the last few weeks due to Coronavirus, Fiona and Farzana join me to share what they have learnt so far. We talk about leadership lessons, innovation, the role patients are playing amongst the changes and how well primary care has implemented digital technology. They also share some of the challenges they have faced so far and give their thoughts on what could be on the horizon.

“In terms of leadership, I would say we need to check in with others and keep raising the issues on what is affecting people, so that all the people working across the system and the patients are getting what they need.” Fiona Claridge
